Welcome to the Finger Lakes Carp Derby. The Waterloo Rotary Club invites you to spend a day taking in the beauty of the Finger Lakes, while indulging in a little competition. Join nearly 400 others as they gear up early and head on out in search of the day's largest (and smallest) carp! Start your engines, paddle your canoe, build your own boat or sit near the shore, kick back and relax, and take in some sun while you cast your line in search for your winning carp.
Don't fall asleep though, as you'll need to be at weigh in between 12:00 and 3:00PM to make sure you get all your carp weighed. Don't forget you must register by June 12th at 4pm in order to be eligible to participate.
Have kids? This is a great family function! Get 'em up early, grab some breakfast and head on out. Bring all of your catch to the weigh-in and enjoy lunch on the grill. Hambugers and hot dogs, chips and beverages will be available for purchase. Bring a blanket and plan a family picnic on Oak Island in Waterloo, NY! Test your luck in the 50/50 raffle, guess how many fish were caught, or total of fish on the leaderboard that day!.

Derby Hours begin at sunrise and end at 12:00 P.M.
Weigh-In will be held on Sunday, June 12th, 2011 from 12:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M.
Weigh-in location is now at Oak Island in Waterloo, NY. Located on Oak St.
There will be a $10.00 registration fee per individual and $25.00 fee per family. Immediate family only. All participants must pre-register. Registration deadline is Sunday, June 12th, 2011 by 8:00pm. Cash prizes – 1st Place $500, 2nd Place $250, 3rd Place $150, 4th Place $100 , 5th through 8th place $50 each. Smallest Carp $50 10 additional $50 winners drawn at random, 14 additional $20 winners drawn at random. Only Rod/Reel Fishing allowed. Must use fishhook to catch fish. Boats are allowed. All Carp must come from Finger Lakes waters open to carp fishing during the hours of the Derby. All Participants must abide by all NY Fish & Boat Commissions rules and regulations at all times. Note: All harvested carp must be brought to weigh-in at Oak Island Park between 12:00 P.M. and 3:00 P.M. on June 12th.. Fish must not be altered in any way. Limit 10 carp per person, 30 carp per family. In the event of a tie, winner will be determined by flipping a coin. Judges decisions are final. Organizers are not responsible for accidents or lost, stolen or damaged equipment. Be a good sportsman, be safe, respect landowners, and DO NOT Litter.
